Santa’s helpers begin today! Today we set up all three mall locations and begin tag distribution. Actually the Tree of Sharing 2013 has been going strong since before our meeting with our partner agencies in September. Since that meeting almost 6,000 gifts have been requested. Nine corporations have requested over 1,300 tags for distribution to their employees or customers and our hardworking mall coordinators have taken more than 4,300 tags.
When the mall activity does start there are still more opportunities to volunteer. Although River Park Square is fully staffed the other malls could use some help. Valley is also close, but could still use a few more volunteers. The tree has been moved to a more central part of the mall – next to Santa. It should be warmer, but the filled bags need to be carried a little further. Northtown could also use some help. If you would like to join in and help us – go to our volunteer section and contact one of our mall coordinators or visit our contact page.
Many of the Tree of Sharing partner agencies use a “Day at the Mall” as an opportunity to promote their organization while manning the table. It doesn’t have to be a full day – maybe just a shift or two. If this interests your company or organization check with the Mall Coordinator for suggestions. Have a great Thanksgiving!
